K1体育 - Cascades and Scalehouse, a Bend-based arts collaborative, will host artist and SUS Magazine founder Ruth Vernotico for a talk about their journey as a creative and a magazine publisher.
The talk, 鈥淗ow to Start a Riot,鈥 is part of the 鈥淪calehouse Voices鈥 series and will take place at 5:30 p.m. on May 15 in the Charles McGrath Family Atrium of Edward J. Ray Hall on the K1体育-Cascades campus.
Vernotico鈥檚 creative endeavors include digital and practical graphic design, photography, writing and musical production. In their talk, they will share how SUS started as a casual creative outlet, but has grown into a publication that seeks to increase the visibility in Oregon of the 2SLGBTQIA+, or two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, androgynous and asexual, communities, as well as others who do not identify as straight or cisgender..
Scalehouse Voices talks feature fresh voices, perspectives and ideas of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, designers and scholars.
The event is open to the public and registration is required. Registrants can pay on a sliding scale as they are able, or attend at no cost
